Hyperparameters
owner_emission
Owner slot of the subnet's emission weight vector — the share of alpha emission paid to the subnet owner.
Slot 2 of the emission weight vector:
the fraction of each block's alpha_out that accrues to the subnet owner and
is staked to the owner's hotkey at each epoch. Stored as u64 parts of
u64::MAX; the listing shows it as a 0..1 fraction.
How it works
Per block, alpha_out × owner_emission is set aside in the owner's pending
bucket; the validator and miner slots take their own shares of the same
alpha_out. Zero means no owner cut at all — the legacy
owner_cut_enabled flag is now
derived from this slot. Lease-created subnets pay crowdloan contributors out
of the owner cut, so on those subnets the owner slot may not drop below the
18% launch default.
New subnets start at 0.18 (11796/65535 scaled to u64 parts, the
historical SubnetOwnerCut).
Bounds
0 ≤ owner_emission ≤ 0.33, and ≥ 0.18 on lease-created subnets. The
five slots must still sum to one, so raising the owner share lowers the
others. Errors: OwnerEmissionAboveMaximum,
LeasedSubnetOwnerCutBelowMinimum, EmissionWeightsDoNotSumToOne.
Reading and setting
btcli subnets emission show --netuid 12
btcli subnets emission set-value --netuid 12 --slot owner --value 0.10Settable by the subnet owner (once per week per subnet) or root through
set-subnet-emission-weights; not
available on the root subnet. set-value rescales the validator and miner
slots proportionally so the vector still sums to one.
