# EmissionWeightsDoNotSumToOne (/docs/errors/chain/EmissionWeightsDoNotSumToOne)

After merging your update into the subnet's current emission weight vector, the five shares do not sum to exactly `u64::MAX` (1.0). Omitted slots keep their current value, so raising one slot requires lowering another in the same call. `btcli subnets emission set-value/increase/decrease` renormalise the other slots for you; with the raw call, pass a full `[0, 0, owner, validator, miner]` vector whose parts total 18446744073709551615.

Declared by the `SubtensorModule` pallet; it classifies to the semantic code [`invalid_argument`](/docs/errors/invalid-argument).

Declared at [`pallets/subtensor/src/macros/errors.rs#L430`](/code/pallets/subtensor/src/macros/errors.rs#L430).
